OBITUARY - MARTINSBURG EVENING JOURNAL - Monday,July 30,1934

NAPLES SPRINKLE - Naples N. Sprinkle, 55, well-known residentof this city, died suddenly at his home, 360 Boyd avenue, about10:30 Sunday evening, a victim of a heart attack. Hecomplained of a slight pain around his heart at various timesSunday, but continued up and around as usual. Shortly afterretiring Sunday evening, he was seized with a heart attack.His son, D. G. Sprinkle, with him at the time, summoned S. A..Sprinkle, who resides nearby, and the latter called a physician.The doctor pronounced him dead upon arrival at the house.Until Sunday, he had been enjoying apparently good health.
Mr. Sprinkle was born in Berkeley county, a son of the late Johnand Susan Sprinkle. The family moved to Homestead, Pa. when hewas quite young. His father died a few years later, and themother brought the children back to Martinsburg. He had sincelived here.
He was a printer by trade, and for a number of years he and hisbrother Dwight Sprinkle, operated a shop in Martinsburg. Inmore recent years, he had been engaged in the building andrepairing of (hard to read), carrying on this work at his houseon Boyd avenue. His wife, formerly a Miss Cockrell, of theGerardstown section, died 14 years ago.
Surviving are his son; his brother Dwight Sprinkle, and anumber of cousins.
The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 from thechapel of Funeral Directors Kogelschatz and Coffman, with theRev. Dr. F. R. Wagner, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Chruch,officiating. Burial will be made in the family lot inGerardstown cemetery.

In 1816 Benjamin Comegys and wife Damarias, sold 198 acres toJohn Myers, part of a larger tract that had belonged toCornelia Thompson, dec., (BCDB 27, P. 457)
John Myers died in 1836 leaving to daugher, Elizabeth Hensellthe land he had purchased from Benjamin Comegys, plus anadjoining small farm where John Horner lived, supposed tocontain in all 283 acres (BCWB 12, P. 54)
On May 7, 1840 Michael Hensil and wife Elizabeth of Jefferson Coin the State of Virginia sold for $4,000.00, to son JepthaHensil of Berkeley Co. and David L. Hensil of Jefferson Co.
There was a court case over the estate of David Hensell. Thefarm and Myers-Hensell house was sold Mar. 17, 1870 by SpecialCommissioners B..F. Harrison and Henry Berry for $4,945.00 toWilliam Hunter of Jefferson Co. (BCDB 67, P. 144)
