Jeptha Hensell House
The farmhouse was built about 1855 after Jeptha Hensell and hisbrother divided the 300-acre Myers-Hensell tract of land. (Map19B) Jeptha Hensell received the north section of the land, 148acres and $750.00, in the division (BCDB 58, P. 270)
He resided on the farm until after his first wife, CatherineHoke Hensell, died. He married a second time to Catherine S.Doll Mar. 18, 1869. Jeptha moved to his wife's home inMartinsburg on Burke Street.
Jeptha Hensell died Aug, 31, 1888, aged 78 yrs., leaving a willprobated Sep. 10, 1888. To his wife, Kate, he left $500.00. Thefarm was to be sold and the money placed at interest to goannually to his widow Kate Hensell as long as she remained awidow. At her death the money was to be divided among hischildren. All house furniture and effects were to go to hiswife (BCWB 23, P. 283)

Because a handful of folks object to having their names listed, all persons born after 1930 are listed as LIVING unless they have a death date. Personally, I fail to understand the objection. Neighbors know their name and co-workers know their birthday. What else is there that's private? (Must be embarassed about their ancestry???)

My grandmother, Bertie Blakesley's middle name is not Easter, it was Esther. Her birthdate was May 19, 1899 in Forestville, CA. Also, my grandfather's name was James LueRoy Myers, not LeeRoy (same for my uncle James..should be LueRoy, not LeeRoy).

My grandmother, Bertie Myers died Aug. 1989 in Santa Rosa, CA. I think it was Aug 5th. She & my grandfather, James Myers are both buried in Memorial Park Cemetary in Santa Rosa. Their son, Thomas Edward died 2 days before her and their funerals were held together.
Lydia Alice Beale was born April 16, 1860 and died March 13, 1911. She married Thomas Blakesley March 30, 1879. They had 8 children, my grandmother was the youngest.
