80. Alexander4 Fancher (Richard,3 David,2 Richard1), born in Stokes County, N. C., in 1795, died in Osage, Ark., in 1840. He married, probably about 1821, in Overton County, Tenn., Jane Johnson, born in Virginia probably abbout 1808. After Mr. Fancher's death she married prior to 1852, John Clark, and on 3 Nov. 1882 she applied for a pension on Alexander Fancher's war record. Alexander Fancher , according to records at the State Library, Nashville, Tenn., served as spy in the War of 1812. He served from Overton County, Tenn., under Captain Miller, in Col. Niel's Regiment of Tennessee Militia from 22 Feb. 1814 to 27 May 1814. He lived in Overton County until 1838 when he moved to Carroll County, Ark., where he died.
In Oct. 1850 Thomas B. Fancher was appointed guardian of the minor children of Alexander Fancher.
