Text: 79. Frey Bynum4 Fancher (Richard3, David2, Richard1), born in Stokes County, N. C., 12 Jan. 1791, died in Hill County, Texas, 2 Jam. 1876. He married, first, in Overton County, 17 Aug. 1817, Celia Matlock, daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Matlock, botn after 1794; and m., secondly, 9 Sept. 1829, Sarah Ann Daniels, Daughter of Bazil Daniels, of Tennessee, born in North Carolina in 1807, and died in 1868. Bynum and his bother Isaac were in Clark County, Ill., in 1830, according to records of land transfers. Bynum was a farmer and served as an officer in the Black Hawk War. Born in North Carolina he went to Overton County, Tenn., about 1806; to Coles County, Ill., about 1823; to Carroll County, Ark., about 1842 and to Texas about 1843. He is said to have been a friend of President Lincoln. He had fourteen children, nearly all probably born in Illinois, of which eleven were living in 1892.

Text: 162. Thomas Hampton5, Fancher (Grey Bynum4, Richard3, David2, Richard1), born in Tennessee in 1822, died in Iberia, Mo., in March 1901. He married, first, Malinda Smith, who was born in Mattoon, Ill., and died in Iberia 31 Dec. 1867; married secondly, about 1869, Sarah Rothwell who was born in Missouri in 1845 and died 27 Nov. 1916. Thomas H. Fancher was a farmer an cattle dealer. He moved from Illinois to Missouri about 1861. He had ten children by each wife, several of whom died young, unnamed.
