Text:   9. JOHN2 FANCHER (John1) was born in Stamford, Conn., 15 July 1737 and died in Poundridge, or Berne, N. Y., 20 Jan. 1808. He married, in New Cannaan, Conn., 26 June 1754, HANNAH WEED, daugher of Abraham and Naomi (pond) Weed, born in Stamford 18 June 1737 and died in Berne 9 March 1823.
John Fancher served in the First Regiment of Westchester County Militia as a Lieutenant. (zra Lockwood's book). It is also noted that he served 18 days in 1757 under Captain Lewis and was a private in Captain Lewis' Compay, Col. Thaddeus Cran's 4th Regiment of Westchester County Militia. He took a leading part in the establishment of the Presbyterian Church in Poundridge, N. Y.
