He went to cornwal from Poundridge in 1811. He enlisted as private for the War of 1812 in Capt. Daniel C. Carpenter's Company, Col. Belknap's First Regiment, N. Y. Infantry, 18 Aug. 1814 and was discharged 3 Dec. 1814, enlisting at New Windsor and being discharged at Harlem Heights. He was wounded in the leg for which he received a pension.
