Text:   30. Issac3, Fancher (David2, Richard1), born in Morris Co., N. J., 27 Dec. 1970, died in Fayette Co., Ohio, 4 March 1837, being buried in Heighler's Sta., Ohio. He married in Rockbridge Co., Va., Mararet Sheels, who died in Cocke Co., Tenn., before1814. (Morton's History of Rockbridge County states Isaac married Margaret McCollem.) Issac Fancher was a farmer. He served as a private in the Revolution and was a pensioner of Berkeley County, Va. Hwent from Cocke County, Tenn., to Fayette County, Ohio, in 1814. In 1819 he was placed on the pension roll in Fayette County for five years actual service as private in the Virginia line (D. A. R. records).
Issac Fancher enlisted in Bartley County, Va., in Capt. Thomas Byer's Company of the 12th Virginia Reiment, to serve from Dec. 1776 to June 1782. He was discharged in South Carolina. Was in the regiment commanded by Col. John Nevil. Was in the battle of the Brandywine, Monmouth, Bluford's defeat, Cowpins, Camden, Eutaw Springs, at the siege of Town 96 and other minor skirmishes. (Pensions Records, Washington, D. C.)
Fayette, Ohio, March 22, 1822-"Isaac Fancher in the 61st year of his age, says that he lives with a son, his wife is dead, that all his estate is worth not more than 153 dollars, all of his children are of full age and doing for themselves, and that he has no farm, the one that he did have being taken away from him, not having got it from the right owner."
In 1819 records he is called an invalid.
Virginia Troops in the Continental line: Isaac F(r)ancher, private under Colonels William Crawford and Nathaniel Gist.
Isaac Fancher was granted a bounty land warrant of 200 acres, Aug. 27, 1835--Warrant No. 8319. He had received script before in amounts of $25 and $100 in lieu of land which has all been taken.
"Isaac Fancher was a very powerful man and had no fear."

Text:   Richard1 Fancher, thought to be a brother of Catherine, William, Hannah, John and David Fancher, is found in Stamford, Conn., about 1725 to 1730. He removed to Roxbury Township, Morris County, New Jersey, where he died, sometime between 29, Oct. 1764 whe his will was made and 12 Nov. 1764, when it was probated in Morris County. His will names his wife as Martha. Five children were baptised in the New Canaan Congregational Church at New Canaan, Conn., and his will names William, Benjamin, David, Richard, Martha Bell (married name) and Amy ashis children then alive.

In the name of God, Amen, this twenty-ninth day of October in the year of
our Lord One -Thousand-Seven-Hundred-Sixty-Four, I Richard Fancher of
Roxbury in Morris County in the Providence of New Jersey, being sick and
weak in body but of perfect mind and memory, thanks be given to God for it.
Therefore, calling to mind the mortality of the body, knowing that it is
appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my Will and
Testament. That is, privately and first of all, I give my Soul into hands of
God that gave it and my body to the earth to be decently buried at the
discretion of my Executors nothing doubting but that I shall receive the
same again at the Resurrection by the mighty power of God and as touch in
such worldly goods as it hath pleased God to endow me with. I dispose of in
the following manner.
That is, I give unto my son William Fancher, to his heirs and assigns, One
Hundred acres of land which I purchased of John Alin, it being the place
where I now dwell.
I then give and bequeath unto my son Benjamin Fancher, one hundred and
fourteen acres of land where he now dwells, to him and his heirs and
assigns, it being a lot I purchased of William Garner.
Then I give unto my son David Fancher, five shillings to be paid out of my
moveable estate.
Then I give unto my son Richard Fancher, five shillings to be paid out of
moveable estate.
Then I give unto my daughter Martha Bell, five shillings to be paid out of
my moveable estate.
Then I give unto my daughter Amy Fancher, five shillings to be paid out of
my moveable estate.
Then I give unto my wife Martha, all the rest of my moveable estate to her
heirs and assigns, to dispose of as she thinks fit and furthermore, I make
and appoint my beloved wife and my beloved friend Wm. Griffin Executors of
this my last Will and Testament, disclaiming and revoking all former
Executors and Wills made or expressed to be mine and hold and affirm this
and no other as my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof, I the said
Richard Fancher have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year first
