ANTHONY JOHNSON STRATTON, a MORMON CLUBBER and SHOOTER and 2nd Lt. in the Iron County Militia; (Son of Calvin Stratton and Gabrilla Johnson, both supposedly of Pottawattamie county, Iowa. Born: 11. Jan, 1824, Bedford County,Tenn. Came to Utah 1849, believed to have come in Captain Smoot eompany.
In September 1857, Stratton was a 2 nd Lt. in one of the Cedar City platoons. According to John D. Lee , Stratton arrived at Mountain Meadows and attended the military council on Thursday evening, September 10.
